I’m sure you have all been wondering about the future of exit109. I’m pleased to report that our new servers are now live!
That’s right, we are carrying on after the sudden passing of our founder, Bob Zachok. We have attempted to reconstruct the knowlege that was mainly in Bob’s head, and we hope nothing has fallen through the cracks. The email system has been updated to the latest technologies, and there is a new and improved webmail interface that can also be used for password changes.
Your existing email has been preserved and your current passwords will continue to work. It is our fondest hope that this transition will be seamless, but it’s always possible that something was overlooked. If you have any problems please let us know.
If you have a website hosted with us, or you use the Unix shell, and
you’re used to logging into hiway1

parkway.exit109.com
. In the unlikely event that you were still using
old-fashioned FTP, you will need to switch to SFTP; regular FTP
has been considered outdated for two decades, is insecure, and
will no longer be supported. Any file transfer software you use
should support SFTP just as easily (probably more easily).
